Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr. have solidified their deal for the IBF lightweight title in Australia on May 12. The match, initially anticipated to occur earlier, will now grace the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, following discussions with the Australian government.

Representatives for both fighters, Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KOs) and Kambosos (21-2, 10 KOs), have agreed on the venue, highlighting the RAC Arena, which boasts a capacity of 15,000. This bout will serve as the main event for a Sunday morning and afternoon in Australia, broadcast live on ESPN in the United States on May 11.

Promoter Bob Arum's Top Rank Inc., in collaboration with DiBella Entertainment, is finalizing the site agreement with the Australian government, adding a significant international element to this lightweight championship. The undercard is expected to feature Australian talents Jason and Andrew Moloney, with Jason potentially participating depending on the healing of a cut sustained in his recent victory.

Both Lomachenko and Kambosos are vying for the IBF lightweight title vacated by Devin Haney, who moved up to the 140-pound division. Lomachenko, a former three-weight world champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist, returns after almost a year to face Kambosos, who secured a controversial majority-decision win over Maxi Hughes in his last bout.

The matchup adds another layer to the buzzing lightweight division, with both fighters aiming to make a statement in this championship clash Down Under.
