Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has voiced apprehensions regarding Artur Beterbiev's recent drug test, revealing an atypical finding with heightened levels of HGH and testosterone. As the light heavyweight title clash with Callum Smith approaches this weekend, Hearn discusses his concerns with fellow promoters.

Hearn on Beterbiev’s drug test: "Kevin Iole, in collaboration with Top Rank, reported an atypical finding in Artur Beterbiev’s VADA test in December, indicating elevated levels of HGH and testosterone. Although not classified as an adverse finding, the raised levels raise concerns for a promoter with a fighter in the opposing corner. While we have been engaging with VADA to comprehend the reasons behind this, we must be cautious in our statements as the details are publicly available."

On receiving a satisfactory answer:

"Not quite. There have been subsequent tests, but none specifically addressing the results in question—only the standard testing that follows. In this single test, there was a spike in these substances, which was not present in tests conducted the following week. Our objective is simple—we, not being scientists, seek an understanding of why these levels were elevated. The questions posed to VADA will persist...

"Contractually, our hands are tied, given it was not an adverse finding but an atypical result in blood and urine, showcasing raised levels of HGH and testosterone."
